Obituary for Laurette Corbin

Mrs. Laurette E. Corbin, age 83, passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday evening, December 5, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born in Burlington, August 24, 1935, daughter of the late Hector and Lydia (Courtois) Jodoin. In 1956, she joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in New York City. Working in payroll disbursement, she met a young sailor, John Corbin. They were married June 6, 1959. Mr. Corbin predeceased her March 11, 1990. Laurette will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring lady, who always enjoyed a good time.

Laurette is survived by her children, Julia Corbin-Furnari and her husband Jack of Staten Island, NY, Patricia Remelgado and her husband J.R. of Lords Valley, PA, Kathleen Corbin and her husband Chris Walsh of Wilmington, NC and Mark Corbin and his wife Lisa of Virginia Beach, VA. She had her 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Laurette also leaves her brothers George Jodoin of Shelburne and Paul Jodoin of Burlington, and sisters Rita Mongeon and Madeline Letourneau both of Burlington. Besides her parents and husband, Laurette was predeceased by her brothers Ferdinand, Richard and Lawrence Jodoin, and her sisters Theresa Lapointe, Sister Lillian Jodoin, and Louise Trombley.
