Obituary for Irene S. Champagne

Mrs. Irene S. Champagne, age 79, passed away Thursday morning, June 20, 2019 at the St. Albans Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Enosburgh Falls, September 16, 1939, daughter of the late Oliver and Sylvia (Smith) St. Cyr. She graduated from Enosburgh High
School in 1957. May 31, 1958 she married Henry Champagne in Richford. Mr. Champagne predeceased her in March 1981. Irene worked for many years in the Dietary Services at the Verdelle Village Nursing Home. She will be fondly remembered for her love of Bingo where
she was affectionately called “Gram”, and the Boston Red Sox.

Irene is survived by her children, Diane (Ted) Coles of Limestone, TN, and her son Allan Champagne of St. Albans, her grandchildren Adam(Christina) Champagne of Keene, NH, and Gabrielle Cummings of Huntington, VT., 4 great-grandchildren, Carter, Elijah, Ethan and Evan. She also leaves her brothers and sisters, Joseph (Barbara) St. Cyr of Montgomery, Leo (Shirley) St. Cyr of Morrisville, Helen (Roger) Parent of Enosburgh Falls, Anna Maynard of Cohasset, MA, Paul St. Cyr and Raymond (Barbara) St. Cyr both of Waltham, MA, Giselle (Robert) Gervais of Enosburgh Falls, Jean St. Cyr of Sheldon, and Oscar (Linda) St. Cyr of Enosburgh Falls. She was predeceased by her brother-in-laws, John Maynard and Norman Weber and her sister-in-law, Linda St. Cyr. Her sister, Pauline Weber passed away during the afternoon of June 20, 2019.

A Graveside Committal of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 27, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Champagne Family lot in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Richmond, VT. As an alternative to flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
