Obituary for Paul A. Gregoire

Mr. Paul A. Gregoire, age 88, passed away Saturday morning, March 10, 2018, at the Franklin County Rehab Center. Paul was born in East Fairfield, September 29, 1929, son of the late Albany and Mary (Young) Gregoire. Paul served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He reached the rank of Corporal after being sent to Hokkaido, Japan. Paul and Corinne Atherton were married on January 23, 1956.

After Paul returned home from Japan he joined his father in working on the family farm. He later worked for many years at the Hazelett Strip Casting Corporation as a machine fabricator, retiring in 1990. He then worked part time for Northwest Counseling and Support Services. He is a member of the American Legion Post #1, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #758. Paul enjoyed working in his garage, carpentry and could fix anything.

Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, Corinne Gregoire of Franklin, his children Cheryl Gregoire and her husband David Maynard of St. Albans, Paul Gregoire Jr. and his wife Stacy of Berkshire, Joseph Gregoire and his wife Laura of Swanton, and Carol Cook and her husband Norman of Swanton, his grandchildren, Christina Wilbur, Tricia Fiske, Jeffery Cook, Nicole Stetson, and Philip, Anthony, Jon and Emily Gregoire, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Alphonse Gregoire of Colchester, and Lawrence Gregoire of Richford, 3 sisters Theresa Knapp of Elliot, ME, Rose Elwood of Milton, and Patricia Hampton and her husband Alex of Hammond, LA. Paul was predeceased by his parents Albany and Mary (Young) Gregoire,
his siblings, Pauline Danyow, Rachel Slater, Louis Gregoire, Albany Gregoire Jr., Joseph Gregoire, and Patrick Gregoire.

The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, and the Franklin County Rehab Center, for the care and compassion they shared with Paul.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour Friday, March 16, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel, 86 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 am in Holy Angels Church.
