Mr. Louis J. Preston, age 73, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Northwestern Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Highgate Falls, November 6, 1938, son of the late Elwood and Marion (Bard) Preston. Louis served his country in the US Army. He married Rita Ploof, and she predeceased him in 2003. He worked as a machinist for the Central Vermont Railway retiring in 2002.

Louis is survived by his two sons Rocky Preston of St. Albans, and John Preston and his wife Rachel of Essex, his 8 grandchildren, Zachary, Averi, Natalie, Katie, Jared, Jacob, Jefferson and Jamieson, a brother Elwood Preston of Lindenhurst, NY, and sisters Marion Cook of Swanton, and Emma Chaplin and her husband Jim of Highgate, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 10:00 AM in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Preston family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
